Tamuning, Guam- Wednesday, January 8, 2020- GTA announced its donation of $15,000 to three local non-profit organizations as part of its 2019 Magic of Giving holiday campaign.  The telecom company held a check presentation today at the Experience Center in Tamuning, with a $5,000 check presented to Harvest House, Sanctuary Incorporated, and Rigalu Foundation.

GTA launched the Magic of Giving holiday campaign on Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2019, with the creation of unique PopSockets that represent each local non-profit organization.  100% of the profits of PopSockets sold in all GTA stores benefited groups that continue to provide help and assistance to youth in need. The campaign was fueled by collaboration and connection with the community to celebrate and inspire a giving movement.

The Magic of Giving was the beginning of a new corporate social responsibility platform to promote youth empowerment and education, which carries through 2020.  “Empowered by GTA” encourages our youth to take charge of their lives and make informed decisions that benefit themselves and society.

Michele Catahay Perez, Community Relations Manager, says, “The Magic of Giving allowed us to create a movement that brought awareness to each organization and highlight what they are doing to empower our youth.  Without the dedicated individuals who work hard every day, our youth would continue to struggle to find purpose.  Their constant dedication inspires us here at GTA, and because of them, we will continue to give back in meaningful ways not just during the holidays, but throughout the new year.”

Laura Nelson Cepeda, Director of Public Relations and Corporate Citizenship, says. “When our youth are empowered, they will have the skills and opportunities to impact their own lives and communities positively.”

“Empowered by GTA” will also support educational programs like Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, or STEM.
