Local telecom company invests in local talent

Tamuning, Guam, Tuesday, October 12, 2021- GTA today announced the promotion of three key leaders and the addition of a new executive to drive the company’s strategic business goals and deliver the best services for our community. The following appointments reflect GTA’s commitment to developing homegrown talent and providing them with the opportunity to lead our island’s only truly local telecommunications provider.

Our recent promotions and appointments show GTA’s commitment to developing our team not only on the executive level but across our organization. Stacy Cunliffe Elarmo, Vice President of People Operations

Born and raised in Guam, Stacy Cunliffe Elarmo returned to the island in 2019, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in Human Resources and Finance with tech companies in San Francisco, San Diego, and Seattle. In her new role as VP of People Operations, Elarmo will continue to use a human-centered approach to improve the employee experience, design learning development programs, enhance recruiting, and focus on retention initiatives. Under her leadership, she brings meaning and purpose to making GTA the ‘Best Place to Work’ by creating a culture and environment that makes employees feel proud to work at GTA.

Crena Byerly, Vice President of Enterprise Sales

Crena Byerly is an empowered female leader in technology, an expert in enterprise sales, and notably one of the few undersea cable subject matter experts in our region. Working her way up the ranks from an Account Manager in 2005, Byerly has been promoted to VP of Enterprise Sales. In her new role, she will lead GTA’s enterprise sales team as they continue to provide the best, most reliable services that power our island’s businesses, as well as position Guam as a global telecommunications hub through strategic partnerships.

Gene Crisostomo, Vice President of Network Operations

Gene Crisostomo’s passion and love for telecommunications led him to work his way from an entry-level job to the newly appointed VP of Network Operations. Crisostomo began his career in 1995 as a Laborer at GTA, and through hard work and training, he has become an expert in network operations. He is a hands-on leader, constantly analyzing and solving complex problems. His expertise includes technical knowledge in wireline, wireless, optical, broadband, and undersea cable systems, and he engages in his team to expand the network and service-impacting issues.

Jon Nathan “Nate” Denight, Vice President of Marketing

Jon Nathan “Nate” Denight is no stranger to the world of Marketing, sharing a passion for creativity and media since childhood. Through his drive, tenacity, and natural leadership skills he learned in his family’s well-known Marketing firm on the island, he turned his passion into a profession- transforming local companies into successful iconic brands for the past 20 years. Denight’s passion for building brands expanded with his work as President and CEO of the Guam Visitor’s Bureau, branding Guam as a world-class destination of choice. As GTA’s newest VP of Marketing, Denight joins the company with a wealth of knowledge to modernize our brand and align with business goals to drive sales growth.
