'Empowered by GTA' continues to support organizations during ongoing Pandemic
Tamuning, Guam (Wednesday, August 26, 2020) –GTA’s corporate citizenship efforts continue by using leading-edge technology and resources to transform the community during uncertain times by channeling behind a newly created 'Empowered by GTA' program, keeping true to the company’s commitment.
By creating lasting partnerships and further investing in change, the local telecom company aligns its efforts to supporting causes that contribute to positively enhancing our community and making an impact.
Laura Nelson-Cepeda, GTA Director of Public Relations and Corporate Citizenship states, “Empowered by GTA partners with organizations making a vital impact in their spaces and supports them with essential telecommunication services and technology offerings. The program’s purpose is to build unity in the community in aligned efforts to not just support but create an imprint on island to needed efforts that support the mission.”
During these uncertain times, many local non-profit groups and organizations are challenged with the lack of funds and resources. By contributing to their cause, GTA is providing vital telecommunications support these essential groups to continue to carry out their operations and serve the community.
Dr. Vincent Duenas, CEO of HunterSpeaks states, “As a non-profit with a very important mission, we’re blessed to be an Empowered by GTA partner. Through their kind generosity we can continue to change the lives of many.”
Empowered by GTA is one of several programs under the Corporate Citizenship umbrella, others include Team Up for Guam, GTA Youth Leader, and Girls Code.
Partnerships under the 'Empowered by GTA' program include:
- Duk Duk Goose, Inc (Nihi!)- Nihi! is a children's television/internet series and a project of Duk Duk Goose, Inc., committed to uplifting indigenous voices and stories from Guam and across the region.
- Heights Academy: Heights Academy is a youth centered Brazilian Jiujitsu academy on Guam, instilling the following virtues in their teachings: integrity, respect, heroic courage, honor, compassion, honesty, and sincerity, duty, and loyalty.
- HunterSpeaks Organization: HunterSpeaks is a non-profit organization aimed at providing medically necessary autism treatment to affected children on Guam.
- Sylvan Learning Center: Celebrating over 30 Years on Guam, Sylvan Learning Center offers tutoring programs for math, reading, writing, SAT / ACT Prep, ASVAB prep, and more.
